Features and benefits
Engineered for the edge
GSP is bringing an advantage that will outperform the competition. Here is what goes into every ADVANTEDGE assembly.
OE specific fitment
Every ADVANTEDGE unit is designed to OE specifications with performance and ride quality in mind, so it fits right out of the box.
Anti-foaming shock oil
Premium quality anti-foaming oil keeps damping consistent on rough roads and long, hard cycles.
Temperature stability
Stable performance from summer heat to winter cold, so ride quality doesn't change with the season.
Durability and performance
Dual-layered, chrome-finished piston rods provide superior corrosion resistance and maximum seal life in extreme environments.
Premium materials
Coil springs are application tuned for correct performance and ride height on every vehicle.
Tested for quality
Each ADVANTEDGE assembly is submitted to durability and endurance tests to ensure OE quality and performance.
Signs of wear
Know when it's time to replace
Customers rarely ask for struts. They describe how the car feels. Pick what the vehicle is doing to see what it means, how to confirm it, and the ADVANTEDGE fix.
Nose dives under braking
- What it means
- Worn damping lets weight shift forward too fast. Stopping distance grows and the rear tires lose grip.
- Confirm it
- Watch the front end on a firm stop during the road test. Look for oil misting on the strut body.
- The ADVANTEDGE fix
- Replace front struts in pairs with ADVANTEDGE Loaded Struts to restore control and braking stability.
Bounces or floats over dips
- What it means
- The damper no longer controls spring rebound, so the body keeps moving after the bump.
- Confirm it
- Push down hard on each corner. More than one rebound past center points to worn damping.
- The ADVANTEDGE fix
- Install ADVANTEDGE Shocks or Loaded Struts on the axle to bring rebound back to OE spec.
Cupped or scalloped tires
- What it means
- The tire is bouncing off the road surface instead of staying planted, wearing patches into the tread.
- Confirm it
- Run a hand around the tread for high and low spots. Check for uneven wear on both sides of the axle.
- The ADVANTEDGE fix
- Replace ride control on the axle before the new tires go on, then align.
Fluid on the strut or shock body
- What it means
- A failed seal is leaking damping fluid. Control drops as the fluid level falls.
- Confirm it
- Look for a wet film past light misting. Fresh oil and road grime caked to the body confirm a leak.
- The ADVANTEDGE fix
- Swap in an ADVANTEDGE unit. Dual-layer chrome rods resist the corrosion that takes out seals.
Clunk or rattle over bumps
- What it means
- Worn upper mounts, bearing plates or bump stops let the assembly move in its tower.
- Confirm it
- Rock the wheel and listen at the tower. Check the mount rubber for cracks and separation.
- The ADVANTEDGE fix
- An ADVANTEDGE Loaded Strut replaces the mount, bearing, spring and boot in one assembly.
Sits low or leans to one side
- What it means
- Coil springs lose height over time, changing ride height, alignment angles and handling.
- Confirm it
- Measure ride height at each corner and compare side to side and against OE spec.
- The ADVANTEDGE fix
- Loaded Struts include application-tuned springs to restore correct ride height. Align after install.
Always confirm against OE service data. This guide narrows the field. It does not replace the manufacturer's inspection procedure.

What is a loaded strut?
A loaded strut is a complete assembly. The strut, coil spring, upper mount, bearing plate and boot come pre-assembled, so it bolts in as one unit.
Do I need a spring compressor?
No. ADVANTEDGE Loaded Struts ship fully assembled, so there is no spring to compress and no old hardware to reuse.
Should struts and shocks be replaced in pairs?
Yes. Replace on both sides of the same axle so damping, ride height and handling stay balanced. Align after any strut replacement.
How do I find the right part?
Use Find My Part with the year, make and model. Have the full VIN ready, since trim and build date can split applications.
Where can I buy ADVANTEDGE?
Through authorized GSP distributors. Locate a distributor near your shop.
What warranty covers ADVANTEDGE?
See the GSP warranty page for coverage terms and how to start a claim.
