Week 8

Alex- This week, I diligently focused on my recurring tasks across all departments, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Due to the heightened activity within our product management team, I had the unique opportunity to allocate an additional day to the marketing department, further enriching my understanding of the various tools and strategies employed in this dynamic field.During this period, I significantly expanded my proficiency in Excel, mastering advanced functions that enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities. Additionally, I delved deeper into Canva, an essential tool for creating visually compelling marketing materials, allowing me to contribute more effectively to our design projects. Moreover, I gained valuable insights into social media activity trackers, which are instrumental in monitoring and optimizing our online presence. This experience has not only broadened my technical skills but also provided me with a comprehensive understanding of how integrated marketing tools can drive engagement and growth.

Jack -

This week I aided Brian with helping track demand on the Performance Axle. This entailed going through the sales order archive lines to see the number of purchase orders (POs), this was done for 2021-YTD. My biggest takeaway so far from working with Brian. You are constantly running different demand reports to get a different vantage point of that demand. It helps to break demand into as many different subsections as possible by customer #, location code, part #, monthly trends, etc... Since we don’t have a forecast of goods breaking down, demand from the previous month/year is our best indication of how many parts will be needed for the up-and-coming months.
