Week 5
Alex C:
This week, I successfully completed the XTV interchanges for GSP, leading to an updated catalog and data within ACES and PIES. My Excel skills have significantly improved, increasing my confidence in tackling new tasks. I collaborated with Stephanie Burko on a pricing project for the sales team, focusing on updating prices and interchanges between AutoZone, AAP, and NAPA. We also made progress with our GSP customer survey initiative, where I learned to use Constant Contact for mass email strategies. After finalizing the interchanges for Robert Murgado in Product Management, I was assigned a PowerPoint task to familiarize myself with its basic functions.
Jack T:
This week, tracking shorted parts underscored the importance of understanding the root causes behind supply chain discrepancies. By identifying that many parts were not shipped due to the absence of an IQ or an unexpected surge in demand, I recognized the critical need for accurate demand forecasting and robust inventory management.
This experience highlighted the value of data analysis in predicting trends and the necessity of clear communication with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries. It also emphasized the importance of regularly reviewing and updating internal processes to adapt to changing demand patterns. Overall, this task reinforced my understanding of the complexities of supply chain management and the strategies required to effectively improve fill rates.
