Week 4
Alex C:
This week was highly productive as I focused on recurring tasks like updating the CPFR file and managing XTV interchanges. Additionally, I broadened my marketing skills by taking on a social media project. In this role, I analyzed our social media presence, experimented with different strategies, and offered suggestions for improvements. Leveraging my social media expertise, I proposed ideas to boost engagement and activity from both our customers and general social media users.
Jack T:
This week, I had the opportunity to assist Brian in calculating the individual demand for parts for our Mexico location. We delved into historical sales data and current inventory levels while excluding Forecast of Goods (FOG) orders and bulk buys to pinpoint the precise demand for each part. This involved comparing the demand provided by the company with their monthly purchasing patterns.
This experience was particularly fascinating as it directly relates to my major in Economics. By helping to calculate demand for parts, I honed my analytical skills and gained a deeper understanding of supply chain dynamics. Excluding FOG orders and bulk buys allowed us to gain more accurate insights into demand planning and inventory management. This experience has further prepared me for tackling complex problem-solving scenarios in future roles.
