Week 11
Alex:
This week was productive yet relaxed in the office, following the team's rigorous strategic planning schedule the previous week. After completing my recurring tasks for the sales team, I identified the need to update the vehicle application within our weekly files during our meeting. We aimed to track vehicle applications for new parts that were experiencing increased sales. Each year, trends emerge in our catalog and sales due to specific vehicles requiring new parts around the same time. With the assistance of our product manager in Spartanburg, we successfully updated our catalog and communicated the changes back to the inventory and sales teams.
Jack:
My internship has been a highly enriching experience, offering a blend of hands-on tasks and insightful learning opportunities. I've been involved in various aspects of supply chain and customer service operations, gaining practical knowledge and skills in the process. One of my key responsibilities was aiding the customer service team by inputting purchase orders into Business Central, which enhanced my understanding of the order management system and the significance of accurate data entry. This project sharpened my organizational and problem-solving abilities, highlighting the importance of meticulous record-keeping. Additionally, I worked on demand planning, sales order processing, and freight reconciliation, all of which broadened my perspective on logistics and supply chain dynamics. This was my last week of the internship program and it was nothing short of an amazing experience. I am truly grateful for this opportunity to work at GSP this summer.
